Discovery Fish & Pizza Bar takes its name from the RRS Discovery, Captain Scott's Antarctic ship that is the anchor exhibit at Discovery Point on the Dundee waterfront a few minutes down the hill. The shop sits on the western Nethergate run between the DCA and the University, working the West End student-and-walk-in trade. The format is a hybrid chip-shop and pizza-takeaway — battered haddock, sausages, fish cakes and chips on the frying side, with a pizza list, burgers and the usual takeaway sides on the other — which is a more flexible offer than the single-trade chippies on the Lochee Road and Blackness Road runs.
