The shop has carried the Jamie's Chippy name in the current operating cycle but locals still know the building as "Cleppy Chippy" — the older trading name that ran here for years and that local press once singled out for the chunky chips. The current operation has kept the chip-shop tradition alongside a much broader takeaway menu.
