Gilak Persian Restaurant

Gilak at 663 Holloway Road, Archway was a highly regarded Persian restaurant specialising in the cuisine of Gilan, the northern Iranian province bordering the Caspian Sea. Reviewed by Time Out and other London food publications, Gilak was praised for its distinctive briny flavours, smoked mackerel dishes, zereshk polow ba morgh and an extensive menu of Persian stews and grilled meats. It was located close to Archway underground station.

Gilak has now closed. The restaurant was a genuine neighbourhood gem that introduced many North Londoners to the depth and variety of Persian regional cuisine. The address at 663 Holloway Road is now occupied by a different operator.
