Dolphin Fish Bar

The Dolphin Fish Bar sits on the small Violet Avenue parade in New Edlington, one of a short cluster of takeaway units that serve the surrounding ex-colliery streets between Edlington Lane and Broomhouse Lane. The shop runs the standard fish-and-chip-shop format — battered cod and haddock, fish cakes and scampi, jumbo sausages, chicken bites and a chip-shop kebab section — with daily-fried chips and an open frying range visible from the counter.

The kitchen has long held a five-star Food Standards Agency hygiene rating, which the Doncaster Free Press has previously flagged as a marker of the better-run takeaways in the borough.
