Indus Restaurant

The Indus Restaurant & Bar is the standout sit-down Indian in the Conisbrough valley, taking up a substantial unit on Sheffield Road close to the foot of the medieval castle that defines the town. The Indus brand was first established in Attercliffe, Sheffield in 1984; the present Conisbrough operation has run from this site since 2011 and was reorganised under the Indus Restaurant & Bar Ltd entity in 2018. The dining room seats north of two hundred and includes a separate cocktail bar, which makes the restaurant unusually well set-up in this part of South Yorkshire for larger family events, small weddings and birthday parties.

The kitchen runs a wide fine-dining Indian menu — full tandoori section, chef specials, traditional bhuna, dopiaza and balti cooking, plus a generous vegetarian and biryani range. The food is kept halal. The restaurant carries a 4.6-star Google score across more than six hundred reviews, with reviewers consistently praising the depth of the spicing and the attentive service. Open seven nights a week, with a slightly later finish on Friday and Saturday.
