About Curriemuir Cuisine
Curriemuir Cuisine sits in the centre of Kirriemuir, the small red-sandstone burgh that locals still call by its old weaving name and that visitors generally know first as the birthplace of J M Barrie — the National Trust for Scotland still runs the Peter Pan author's childhood house on Brechin Road. The takeaway is one of the longer-standing family operations on the High Street, and its remit is genuinely broad: a curry section that runs the full balti, madras, korma and bhuna spread alongside its own house specials, stone-baked pizzas in 10 and 12 inch, doner and chicken kebabs, and 100% British beef burgers seasoned in-house. The pizza bases are advertised as soft and fluffy rather than thin-crust, and the curries are built around a house blend of herbs and spices rather than a generic balti gravy. The genuine draw, particularly midweek, is the delivery footprint — Curriemuir Cuisine runs out as far as Westmuir, Dykehead, Padanaram, Airlie, Roundyhill, Glamis, Kingoldrum, Tannadice and Pearsie, which covers most of the rural settlements between Kirriemuir and the southern edge of the Angus glens.
