Iberia Authentic Georgian Restaurant on Caledonian Road is one of the few restaurants in North London serving the distinctive cuisine of Georgia -- the ancient Caucasian nation whose food culture is one of the world's oldest and most fascinating. Georgian cooking sits at the crossroads of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Middle East, built around walnuts, pomegranates, fresh herbs, slow-cooked meats and its world-famous wines.

Signature dishes include khinkali (large soup-filled dumplings held by the topknot and bitten from the side), khachapuri in several regional styles (boat-shaped Adjaruli with runny egg, round Imeretian with cheese), chakapuli (lamb with tarragon and white wine) and a spread of Georgian cold starters. The ancient amber and skin-contact Georgian wines -- made in qvevri clay pots, the world's oldest winemaking tradition -- complement the food beautifully. A genuine neighbourhood gem.
